Second act careers

We all know that we will need to work longer

—whether that’s for personal reasons or to stay connected with the world of work, perhaps in a non-executive capacity. All of our coaches are familiar with career transition. We are here to help.

What you’ll get

Each coaching relationship at The Careers Company is bespoke to the unique needs of our clients.

From a package of 6, Second Act sessions, clients can expect the following possible outcomes.

Identity

We are often identified by our career. As we transition to a Second Act our identity can become blurred and even fall away. This can impact our confidence. Re-building and refocusing for this next stage is critical.

Exploring Possible Options

The choices available at this stage can often be ‘hidden’. We have a proven process to think through possible options before you settle on one or two!

Balance

As we progress to our next career stage our life/work balance is often impacted and need reconfiguring. Our coaches can help you get back on an “even keel”.

Hear from the clients

"Meena is an extremely effective and inspiring coach. She has displayed her strong expertise in talent development via a coaching relationship I had with her. Meena was able to provide assistance and guidance that truly fit my individual needs. She also had a lot of empathy and was able to guide me through a crucial self-reflection process by helping me to discover the answers that are right for me. It has been a privilege to work with her."

FAQs

What is career coaching and who can it help?

Career Coaching is a partnership between a coach and a client essentially to support the client  with career related decisions (e.g. choosing a career, switching careers) or career related issues (getting promoted, obtaining a better work/life balance, dealing more effectively with colleagues).  We help clients at all life and career stages – at the start, mid-career transition or those reviewing pre-retirement choices.

This largely depends on the area that you need support with, but most clients need 6 sessions over a 4-6 month period.

One of the things that distinguishes a great coaching partnership is chemistry.  The Discovery Call is therefore primarily aimed at getting to know your coach, the way they work etc.  It’s also a chance for the coach to help clarify the client’s goals, challenges and needs.  At the call the logistics (timing, number of sessions, location, cost etc.) of the coaching partnership will be set out.  Finally, the call is a chance to get your questions answered!

These vary by the level of the client (if you are starting out in your career or more experienced).  We can walk you through the detail at the Discovery Meeting.

Feel free to drop the team an email at info@thecareerscompany.com and they will respond as quickly as they can.
